This world’s access list is empty

has Use Access List switched on, but there is nobody on the list.

Valheim only applies a permitted list when it has entries, so an empty list is not “nobody may join” — it is no restriction at all. Add at least one player, or switch the access list off if the world is meant to be open.

Your worlds need updating

Game DNS is now . The setting is saved, but your worlds are still handing players the old address.

Each world writes the address into its own QuickConnect file, and that file is only rewritten when the world is updated. Until then players who join through QuickConnect will still be sent to the previous hostname.

Update every world to finish the change. Any world you do not update keeps the old address.

Nothing else about your worlds changes, and players already connected are not disconnected.

What's New in v2.51

  • New: your players can download the PhValheim client as a Flatpak. The Linux download menu on the public page now offers a fourth package alongside the .tar.gz, the .deb and the .rpm. Nothing changes for players already using one of those three.
  • This is the package for SteamOS, Bazzite and other systems where the operating system itself is read-only — there is nowhere on those machines to install a .deb or a .rpm, so until now the only option was the plain .tar.gz and setting it up by hand. The Flatpak also brings its own copy of the system libraries the client needs, which is what the Couldn’t find a valid ICU package error on a minimal install was about.
  • Clicking the Flatpak icon opens step-by-step instructions rather than starting the download, because a Flatpak bundle is not much use on its own — it has to be installed with a command, and on a bare window manager such as Hyprland, Sway or i3 there is a second one-off command without which clicking a world’s launch link does nothing at all, silently. Every command has a copy button, and the download button sits at the bottom of the same dialog.
  • The download icons are now labelled with what they are — Universal, Ubuntu, Fedora, Flatpak, Windows — instead of all four saying “Download”, and they have a little more room between them.
  • The Flatpak link only appears for client releases that actually ship one, which is client 2.0.13 and newer. If your players are on an older client release the menu looks exactly as it did before.
